My Self Care Routine | 7 ideas for the ultimate self care day!
Hi lovelies and welcome to my blog. So, today I am going to share with you a sort of updated skincare routine. Basically, I am going to take you through all the different ways that I love to practice my self-care and give you some ideas while also talking to you about what self-care really means to me and really redefining this idea of self-care because I feel like it's very much intertwined with self-love and self-compassion. It's an extension of self-love and self-compassion. I hope you will enjoy this post. So, let's get started. The first thing I want to show you is actually the things I prefer for my needs.
Well, there are two things I realized I am going to show you from my cabinet. So the first act of self-care that I love to do plants propagating. So, I have big and small plants in pots on my cabinet. I just love being around nature and plants and so, my indoor house is a big form of self-care for me.
Alright, next thing in my H-cube storage unit is that I have little tiny craft area down. I have a DIY pottery kit, I have 48 coloured chalks, washable chalks that was a lockdown purchase but I haven't done any drawings on the pavemnet using chalks but I saw such cool creations so I've got chalks, I've got pottery, I got into bead-making last year and I made a bunch of different bracelets and a necklace for my mum which I love and then, some artificial flowers and different other little craft projects so for me self-care is also about creativity and just doing things with your hands. It's very grounding and if you can get out of your headand into your body, it's just so so good for your mental health and your mood. So, I highly recommend it - 'Add some creativity to your self-care list.'
Another part of my self-care routine is a sort of something that happens more like once a month but I will get home from a busy work day, make myself a cup of tea and sit on the couch with my pet.
I love to read magazines so I have my little stash. By the way, it's mainly home decor and country style. That's the sort of magazines I like. Well, it's a little weird that it's a low trendy and old type but I love it, lol! I have magazine called womankind. It's a new era for women. It's a magazine all about female empowerment, beautiful stories, different cultures around the world, mental health and creativity. Honestly, it's so insightful and I love it. My mom actually got me a subscription to this magazine after I was eyeing the copies she had in her room and surprised me with it. It was really lovely of her, but otherwise I was spending a lot of time flipping through country style and home beautiful, getting ideas for a new place etc.
But again self-care is not just about sitting down and reading a magazine and having a cup of tea for me. It's actually about slowing down. It's about giving yself permission to stop and just do things that make me feel good and I don't have to always be in this constant state of productivity and also the idea that you should'nt feel guilty for putting your feet up and reading a magazine or a good book and you don't have to do it once in a while. It's a really nice thing to do every day.
Next hack of a perfect self-care routine is to take your pet for a walk. It's really a nice way to tap into that inner child being with animals. You must remember, that self-care is not just about the physical stuff that we do or put our body. It's about our relationships and the way that we choose to spend our time as well.
Next thing, I wanted to tell you about, is my bedroom and I wanted to show you one little act of self-care that I love to do for myself basically on a weekly basis and it is a little bit of more of a physical thing - my nail polish. The brand that I use is a byron bay based brand. They are animal cruelty free vegan friendly. They come in recycled packaging. They're glass bottles with wooden tops. They don't use those toxic chemicals. So, that's a nice little self-care thing.
Alright, so now we are in the study because I am going to show you my self-love journal now. I have a little self-love journal and its really nice in the mornings. I can write down my gratitudes and each week there are different intentional exercises that just bring a greater sense of awareness around. It let's you know how you can be kinder and nurture yourself more so apart from this, I don't do all the other things that I show you in this video on a daily basis, but I do them on my self-care days. They are really nice things to build up in yourself. Again, I must tell that self-love is about setting healthy boundaries, becoming aware of what's right for you and making sure that you are honoring yourself , your needs and your core values. I think that journaling is a great way to practice all of that.
All right, so the next thing I wanted to share with you some of the products I use for my skin-care. I was really pleased to share some of them. They are natural botanicals and they have recycled packaging. They are glass bottles. I love them. The brand is called 'Mukti' for everyone asking for an updated skincare routine or a skincare routine. I am really not a beauty guru, so I decided to tell you quickly about these products. I organize them based on the order I do them in. So, first I cleanse and I use balancing cleansing gel by Mukti. It just smells like oranges and its really gentle. I have very sensitive skin so, it's safe if I can use it. Then, I use their orange blosssom balancing mist and then I use a serum and then I moisturize. So, I have a few serums I use during the day. It's the vital bee exilir or the rescue and reover serum. Both of these, are really really nice. In the eveing, I use a hyaluronic marine serum. It's meant to be just like your skin's best friend. If I am going to be outside, I use the daily moisturizer with zinc natural sunscreen because I don't really like using unnatural sunscreens and if I am not getting any sun, I use the clansing moisturizer. At night, I use the rose hip eye gel. It's really nice. For once a week, I do a exfoliating and deep cleansing face mask but I don't do them everyday because you're not meant to but that's a really little nice add-on for my self-care. If I do a real self-care pamper day, I'll do my nails, I'll do a skin care like face mask and exfoliate. I don't know, whether to go and take a massage. That's a very indulgent kind of day but I wanted to share with you some of my favourite skincare products because I've used them for a few months and I feel they are really nice.
I hope you enjoyed these different self-care ideas and products. I have links in this post at the last on the different products I use, check it out:)
